A Round Tummy.

A family dinner at Shima at Goodwood Park Hotel is very much, the best dinner I had in a long time, hands down. It beats even Morton’s at Chicago’s. And while Morton’s did disappoint a little, I must confess that it most certainly wasn’t half bad.

The menu line-up kind of went like this:

  1.  Salmon Sashimi
  2. Japanese Salad
  3.  Tempura Mixed Selection
  4. Grilled Salmon in sauce
  5. Grilled Onion in butter
  6. Grilled Giant Prawns in butter and garlic
  7. Grilled Lobster in butter and garlic
  8. Grilled Giant Prawn head (random)
  9. Grilled Salmon skin (random)
  10. Grilled lobster (shell and all)
  11. Grilled Matsusaka Beef
  12. King Crab in Clear Soup
  13. Garlic Fried Rice and Miso Soup
  14. Grilled mix vegetables

So you can predict how full I was. Actually I was full by the time the giant prawns rolled around.  I shall let some pictures do the talking. But do bear in mind that the pictures do not exactly do justice.

Until my photoshop is fixed, I do not have the patience to set everything up nicely. So this is just a little preview.

Digression. I finally own my first real cosmetic set, a Christmas gift courtesy of my very generous mother. A trip to Tangs resulted in a collection of several cosmetic essentials. The cosmetics world is extremely confusing. It’s a hazard zone to me because of the sheer amount of items one would require for even the most basic set of cosmetic.

Shu Uemura has such a delightful, and delightfully expensive collection – I ended up getting the bulk of stuff from there. Because their products are, apparantly, tested for allergy and suited especially for Asian skin. Marketing sells, really.

So with the exception of an extremely pretty eye-shadow palette and lip-gloss (lip-glass apparantly) from M.A.C , the other items are from Shu Uemura. I think I have the makings of a brand snob. I believe that quality translates to high expenses. Can you blame me?

Finally got down to a haircut today. With Daryl in tow. And as he cut his hair, his behavior was priceless. I leave you, with this.
